Football playoffs continue today! The Seahawks are playing the Atlanta Falcons and I am nervous. Atlanta is good, and the only playoff win they have ever had has been against the Seahawks. So…..to calm my nerves, I’m going to have about twelve of the football shaped jello jiggler shots I made in green & blue!
I am kind of obsessed with jello jiggler shots. I hate jello shots (slurping is gross) but I love the idea of tasty boozy treats that are easy to consume. These guys you can pick up and bite – perfect for a party. They taste good too. I made these before for halloween in an orange flavor. Since the Seahawks colors are blue & green I had to mix up my recipe a little bit. These are great to make for all sports games and since jello comes in a great variety of colors, the recipe below is generic. This way you can make these in any jello flavor/color your heart desires.
I recommend the following alcohol / jello flavor pairings, but do whatever you think would taste best!
- berry flavors & rum
- lemon/lime & gin/vodka
- orange & vodka
- pineapple & rum
- melon & vodka
- mango & rum
The flavor combos I used for these lovely jigglers were lime (green) & gin as well as berry (blue) & rum. Both turned out exactly how I wanted them too. Sweet but not too sweet and the alcohol flavor wasn’t overpowering. I wanted these in football themed shapes so I found these super cheap football cookie cutters and got them in two days (thanks, Amazon!). I am definitely making these again for the super bowl and fingers crossed I can make them again in the same colors!
Football Jello Jiggler Shots
- 1 unflavored gelatin packet
- 1 large box (or 2 small boxes) jello (8 servings)
- 1 c water
- 1/2 c alcohol
- Boil the water in a small pot over high heat.
- Add the gelatin and box(es) of jello.
- Stir until the gelatin has been completely dissolved.
- Mix in the alcohol.
- Pour in to a lightly greased 10 x 10" pan.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Using a cookie cutter, cut your desired shapes in to the jello.
- Peel away using a fork to lift.
If you are making this for a party, and need more than six servings, quadruple the recipe and pour the jello into two greased cookie sheets rather than a 10x10 dish.
