Low Carb Pasta Alfredo With Sausage
The pasta world has been dominated by the wheat pasta for a long time now, but low carb pasta is not something new to many of us. There are several low carb pasta products in the market but they all have one thing in common. They are carb free, and also taste great. But what happens when you want to add some calories to your low carb meal?
I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy classic Italian dishes, and that’s why I came up with this delicious low carb pasta dish. This recipe is full of fresh flavors of garlic, basil, and cream—all of which make it a perfect way to celebrate a special holiday.
This is a low carb recipe for a traditional pasta dish. I’m a big fan of low carb recipes—most of the time, the results are better than what you would expect from standard pasta recipes. Low carb recipes tend to be more filling, and they taste better, as well. This recipe is no different—it’s pretty tasty.
Pasta with a Fat Bomb!
Every now and again, I get an idea that I simply can’t let go of. Megha despises it when this occurs because no matter how hard she tries, I will not accept no for an answer! This low-carb spaghetti meal has been on my mind for months, and I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to try it out. That chance finally presented itself, and I took full advantage of it. This low-carb spaghetti recipe is one of my favorites, and I even convinced Megha to agree that it was delicious.
Pasta is once again on the menu.
Although almost everyone enjoys pasta, it is one of the first foods you must eliminate when beginning a ketogenic diet. We just accepted this reality for the first several months of following a ketogenic diet. With the passage of time, we began experimenting with various low carb noodles and finally developed a decent cooking technique that makes these noodles delicious! If you’ve ever had shirataki noodles, you’ll know that they smell and taste a lot like an earthworm (not that I’ve ever had one). There are measures you can take (described in the video above) to guarantee that these pups are especially delicious!
The Low-Carb Pasta Sauce of Your Dreams
The rest was simple after mastering the zero carb noodle. Alfredo sauce and its variations are keto-friendly! We didn’t make this Alfredo sauce in the conventional sense since we like to put our own twist on things. We’ve prepared this meal with Parmesan, Asiago, and Pecorino Romano cheeses, and the Pecorino Romano version is really outstanding. All of them were delicious, so if you have another cheese on hand, go ahead and use it, but the Pecorino Romano was outstanding!
Selection of Proteins
In our quest to make this dish as fatty as possible we opted for a nice Italian sausage here, but anything will work. Meatballs, chicken, really any sort of protein you can think of. Another way you could take this dish is the top it with some extra cheese and bake it in the oven for a nice baked low carb pasta dish. Give it a try and let us know what you think! Instructions:
-
To begin, make sure the shirataki noodles are completely dry. To fully dry the noodles, first drain out all of the water, then pat dry with a paper towel, and then fry them in a skillet for 5-10 minutes. (Getting the sauce to adhere to the noodles requires drying the noodles.)
-
Cook the Italian sausage until it is fully cooked over medium heat. Remove the pan from the heat and put it aside.
-
Add milk and butter to the same pan where the sausage was cooked. Scrape the bottom of the pan to integrate all of the sausage’s flavor into the sauce.
-
Add the parsley and cheese once the cream and butter have reached room temperature. Mix until the cheese is completely melted.
-
Toss the noodle in the sauce to coat it.
-
Place the sausage slices on top of the noodles. Additional shaved cheese and parsley may be sprinkled on top. Enjoy!

carbohydrate-rich foods like pasta and bread are believed to help you lose weight, but is it the carbs that are helping or just the portion size? A study on rats published in the 2012 American Journal of Physiology found that a low-carb diet can actually cause weight gain and “increased fat mass” because of a reduced ability of the body to store fat and the reduced insulin sensitivity..
