This how-to post is for those who are new to the ketogenic diet (aka Keto Diet), including those who are new to making homemade ice cream. This ‘mason jar’ ice cream recipe requires very little effort and takes up very little room in the freezer. It is also very nutritious. I’ve seen the standard store-bought low fat ice cream in the grocery store go on sale for $3. I can make this low-carb ice cream for about $1 per pint.

Ready to create keto ice cream using a beer can at home?

I’m sure you didn’t realize it was feasible! It’s that easy, and it’s absolutely amazing! Who knew keto ice cream could be made without an ice cream maker? Yes, a glass, heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and keto sweetener are all you’ll need.

The greatest thing is that you can easily customize this dessert recipe to include your favorite tastes. The basic vanilla recipe simply calls for three components, after which you may get creative with what you add. It’s also excellent for your hands as a side benefit. They’re simply shaking things up!

To create keto ice cream, combine all ingredients in a quart-sized (32 oz) Mason jar, shake vigorously for five minutes, then freeze. This smoothie produces a thick and creamy keto ice cream. Depending on the specifications of your freezer and if you have additions, the ice cream will take two to four hours to freeze.

And there’s no limit to the flavor combinations! Add berries, nuts, cocoa powder, keto biscuits, or other sugar-free caramel sauce to your keto toppings.

We used a vanilla recipe with the following modifications to experiment with various taste combinations for this dish.

Make the finest keto ice cream in a jar with these tips.

  • We used a keto-friendly sweetener in lieu of conventional sugar in this recipe. Ice cream is one of those dishes that is extremely simple to make ketogenic-friendly by just substituting a ketogenic-approved sweetener for the sugar. For this dish, we used Swerve Keto sweetener since it melts better and works well! Check out our guide to keto sweeteners for more details.
  • 5 minutes of shaking the container! If required, set a timer for this step, since it is critical! The amount of the cream is doubled when the ice cream machine is shaken, giving the ice cream a creamy texture. A blender may also be used. If you do it too much, you’ll wind up with butter.
  • Take into consideration the time it takes to freeze. The ice will take 2-4 hours to freeze (but it will be worth the wait)!
  • Before serving, let the ice cream on the table for a few minutes. Right out of the freezer, the ice cream is very firm. Holding the glass jar under hot water is not advised since it may create cracks. If you’re using a plastic jar, though, it won’t harm to run it under hot water.

In a glass, combine the whipped cream, vanilla, and sweetener. If required, add more flavorings. Securely fasten the cover.

For 5 minutes, firmly shake the container until the liquid volume has doubled.

Place in the freezer for 2-4 hours to completely freeze. If you’re using heavier additions, such as nuts or chocolate chips, check and stir the ice cream after an hour or two to ensure they don’t sink to the bottom.
