Is Banana Pudding a Keto Dessert?

Certainly not. Sugar, flour, and banana puree are required to create normal banana pudding.

But don’t worry, as I said in my previous article, nothing beats keto. You can create your keto banana pudding with just the right substitutions, and it will taste even better than the normal version.

What Is the Carbohydrate Content in Banana Pudding?

If you’re making a traditional banana pudding, you may name it Carb Bomb instead of Banana Pudding since it has over 40 grams of carbs per serving.

I am pleased to inform you that Keto Banana Pudding has just 2g net carbohydrates.

For the Keto Banana Pudding, you’ll need the following ingredients.

You won’t believe how little ingredients this amazing keto banana pudding requires.

  • I suggest taking the heavy whipping cream out of the fridge and allowing it come to room temperature nearly 30 minutes before you start preparing the pudding. Replace the dairy with canned coconut cream to create a dairy-free keto banana pudding.
  • Almond milk — You’ll need unsweetened milk, and you may use whatever plant-based milk you want. This pudding tastes just as good with coconut or hemp milk as it does with almond milk.
  • Egg yolks – Even if you just need the yolks, you don’t have to toss away the whites since they may be used in a variety of dishes. You may try my keto cloud bread with no carbs.
  • Sweetener — In this recipe, I used Erythritol, although Monk Fruit sweetener or Allulose would also work.
  • Make sure you’re using unsalted butter. Make sure you don’t add salt if you’re using salted butter.
  • Banana extract – Without the banana, what is keto banana pudding? Without utilizing the actual fruit, this extract will give the keto banana pudding the ideal taste.
  • Vanilla extract – as you know, virtually no dessert is complete without it. It’s my personal fave!
  • Xanthan gum – I have two suggestions for you: don’t forget about it and use the proper quantity. If you use too much xanthan gum, the texture of the pudding will become excessively sticky and gummy. In this recipe, don’t use more than 1/4 teaspoon. Start with 1/4 teaspoon and stir until the sauce thickens.

Keto Banana Pudding: How to Serve

I decided to serve this sugar-free banana pudding with whipped cream and a small keto snickerdoodle biscuit on top.

However, there are additional possibilities:

  • You could create some lovely layers of pudding and biscuits, then top them with whipped cream;
  • Put a layer of crumbled keto banana bread in a baking dish, then a layer of keto banana pudding, and finish with whipped cream;
  • Alternatively, you may serve it plain.
