Easy BBQ Meatballs |
These BBQ Meatballs are a great alternative to traditional meatballs that don’t require a ton of prep work. You can make them a day in advance, and freeze them for later. They’re also a great option for dinner parties. I often make a double batch to have on hand as an easy weeknight meal. I love these meatballs because they’re so versatile and they can make any entrée from spaghetti to a simple and tasty meatball sub.
For those days you can’t make it out to the grocery store, or don’t want to go through the trouble of making beef burgers, try these meatballs instead. They’re easy to make, and best of all, they are a lot healthier than their fast food counterparts.
These BBQ meatballs are a great addition to your summer grilling menu.
Meatballs for the BBQ are one of my favorite party dishes. This appetizer may be prepared on the stovetop in 25 minutes or in the slow cooker for hands-off cooking. It’s a dish that your visitors will rave about and want to make again and again. Serve the meatballs on their own or as part of a sub!
On the stove, how to create Easy BBQ Meatballs
To cook the meatballs on the stovetop, mix the frozen meatballs (yeah, we’re cheating!) and sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are well cooked and the sauce has thickened. That’s right, it’s that simple!
In a crockpot, prepare Easy BBQ Meatballs
This appetizer may easily be made in the crockpot instead of on the stovetop. Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, stirring periodically, in your slow cooker with all of the ingredients. This is a set-it-and-forget-it appetizer, which is ideal for those last-minute cleaning and cooking tasks.
What kind of meatballs should I use?
In this dish, I use “homestyle meatballs,” which are a mildly flavored meatball with a smaller size. Swedish meatballs are a good alternative if you can’t locate this style. Because of their bigger size and stronger taste, I would avoid Italian meatballs. You could prepare your own meatballs, but this recipe utilizes frozen meatballs for convenience and time savings.
