Marinade for Grilled Chicken This Italian Dressing-based dish is perfect for a gathering or a romantic supper for two. Simply marinated boneless breasts with an Italian dressing.

One of my favorite marinades is bottled Italian style dressing. It’s a low-cost, fast, and simple marinade that adds flavor and softness to the meat. I also use it on pork and beef.

This recipe asks for chicken breasts, but dark meat chicken would work just as well.

For four chicken breasts, you’ll need approximately half a bottle of Italian dressing, so you’ll have enough for the salad. For a gathering of 10 or more, use the whole bottle of Italian dressing.

The sauce you used to marinade the chicken should not be reused. You don’t want to make your visitors ill, do you?

You may take the marinated chicken breasts to the beach, park, or your garden straight in the container they’ve been marinating in. You’ll like the convenience and taste, and the savings are a bonus!

Grilled Chicken Marinade Italian Dressing Based Hints and Tips

On Your Own — Try one of the flavorful peppers found in the spice section of your supermarket. This dish might benefit with a dash of lemon pepper.

For those who want it hot, a Cajun spice with a lot of cayenne pepper can kick things up a level.

Food for Thought – The marinating tenderizes the chicken. The longer you can leave these chicken breasts in the marinade, the better. That is, up to a point. If you leave it longer than 24 hours, your breasts may get mushy.

The acids in the Italian dressing will break down some of the chicken’s fibers, making it soft and moisture-retaining.
