Flash Fried Chicken – Better Than Southern Fried?

The fried chicken chain has been around for decades, but it’s not clear if the southern style of cooking is still better.

The fried chicken batter is a common Southern dish that is typically made with buttermilk, flour, baking powder, and cornmeal. It’s not as well known as the fried chicken found in other parts of the country like the Midwest.

Nothing beats good old southern fried chicken, but this Flash Fried Chicken technique made me pleased since there was no oil all over the place…

Yes, I tend to get oil all over the stove and whatever shirt I’m wearing when I fried chicken as my Grandmothers did.

I’d heard and read a lot about flash fried chicken recently, so I decided to give it a go and see how it turned out.

Well, the final product is about as nice as if I had stood over an iron skillet for 30 minutes or more, plus it’s not nearly as much of a greasy mess to clean up.

I’m not sure who came up with this concept, but it’s a great one.

I used the method I heard about in this recipe, although I altered a few items to suit our tastes.
