Honey Roasted Pears |

Pears, one of the most under-appreciated fruits, are perfect for beginners and experienced cooks alike. Perfectly golden, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, they’re best served with a light, tangy sauce and maybe a little honey.

While most people are happy with regular pears, I prefer to use them in recipes like this honey-roasted pear recipe. The intense caramelized flavor adds a nice depth to the pear’s natural sweetness.

Pears are the most popular fruit in the world, and honey has been a staple ingredient since ancient times. But is there a reason that honey pairs so well with pears?

Autumn is renowned for its baking and wonderful fruits and vegetables. With this Roasted Pears with Honey dish, you can make the most of fall’s abundance. You’ll enjoy how the pears caramelize and become sweeter after being roasted. For a special treat, top with crème fraiche, whipped cream, or ice cream.

What are the finest pears for baking?

Pears aren’t all made equal. When baking pears, use firm unripened pears since they may quickly turn to mush when cooked. You’ll be able to peel them more easily, and they’ll maintain their shape when cooked. Bosc and anjou pear types are the finest baking pear varieties. These may typically be found in most supermarkets.

Pears: How to Peel and Core Them

When baking with pears, use ones that aren’t too ripe. You’ll find it easier to peel and chop crisp pears than overripe ones. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the skin, which should fall off easily like an apple skin. To core the pears, scoop out the seeds with a spoon, just like you would with a melon.

What can you do with pears?

Pears may be used in almost every recipe that calls for apples. They may be made into crumbles, cakes, dumplings, or just eaten raw. Pears are available all year, but they are at their best in the autumn. Here are a few of my favorite pear recipes:

  • Pear Cake from Italy
  • Tart with pear, feta, and walnuts
  • Tarte aux Poires et Amandes
  • Muffins with Pears
  • Crispy Apple and Pear with Cinnamon
