Vodka Lemon Holiday Cocktail –
Who doesn’t love a good holiday cocktail? I always love when people suggest holiday drinks to me, and one of my favorite holiday cocktails is the Vodka Lemon. The best part of this drink is the lemony twist, and this cocktail is an easy way to enjoy it in a healthy way.
This is my own recipe for a holiday cocktail, my own special way of bringing out both the flavors of vodka and lemon. I do not claim to be the pioneer of this drink, but I do claim to have come up with a different way to mix them together. The recipe is quite simple – but it does require a little bit of patience.
The holidays are fast approaching, and the weather is warming up nicely. It’s time to get ready for the holiday season! Have you thought about holiday gifts? Have you planned what you are going to wear? And, what about the food? What recipes are you going to prepare?
I was able to film myself preparing the drink twice since it was so simple! I was having a good time and didn’t bother to edit since I was on a roll.
How did I end up with this drink?
Dean Martin’s daughter, Deana, was a guest on Fox News one day when I was binge-watching.
I was half-watching as she made her “Deana Martini” and other of her father’s favorite foods.
(I admit, the term “martini” drew my interest.) I put down the broom and gave her my whole attention!)
Due of a lack of time, she rushed through the ingredients and quantities, and I barely caught the highlights.
So I began with the notes I had jotted down.
I opted without straining the drink into a martini glass since I like the melting ice on occasion.
Jeff suggested that a dash of bitters be added.
This is a significant improvement. Jeff, thank you very much!
On my parents’ reel-to-reel, I recall listening to these musicians for hours.
My favorite composer was Engelbert Humperdinck. I had a huge crush on him when I was a young child.
My mother and I used to watch the Dean Martin program together.
For this Christmas season, I have so many wonderful childhood memories. Enjoy!
