Because Lisa is German, we almost always prepare a German salad at home (it’s what she grew up eating). So, even though we relocated to North America, she continues to make these dishes.

German cucumber salad, German potato salad, and German tomato salad are some of the most common kinds of German salads that you may have heard of. You won’t go hungry since each of these salads has a recipe on this list.

There are numerous variations of these salads, as there are with many other dishes. Some Germans prepare cucumber salads with oil and vinegar, while others like to add sour cream.

So there isn’t just one method to prepare the salad, just as there are many different variants for various meals throughout North America!
