5 Ingredient Cherry Tarts

Cherry tarts are a holiday tradition. You can have them year round, but they’re especially popular around the Christmas holiday. This recipe for plain cherry tarts is easy to make and take less than 15 minutes to make. They’re perfect for a daily treat or for a special holiday treat. You can easily substitute any other dried fruit in these tarts.

The time has come for cherry season! How are you going to celebrate? As a kid, I remember spending hours at the local cherry orchard picking the juiciest cherries and taking them to my grandmother’s house. I can still hear the clink of the ice bucket and the ringing of the ice scoops against the glass as I handed them one by one to her. She would then take the cherries out of the syrup, put them on a plate, and add a small dollop of whipped cream. The sweet, tangy, sour, and tart flavors of a cherry pie were always a wonderful treat for the entire family.

Cherry season is in full swing, and I thought it would be fun to share a recipe for an isolated chocolate cherry tart. The tart is simple to make, requires no baking, and the hardest part is picking the cherries.

When you mix cinnamon buns, cream cheese, and cherries, what do you get? THIS! These Cherry Cheesecake Tarts with 5 Ingredients are absolute bliss. They’re quick and easy to make, and they’re delicious hot or cold! Make ahead of time for a party or bake in the morning so you can serve them cold whenever the occasion arises!


A nice cherry cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts. The ones I’ve always liked have always been labor demanding, so they’re not produced very frequently. I wanted something exciting and unusual, yet still delicious. These mini cheesecakes blend the buttery cinnamon tastes of cinnamon rolls with the sweet and gooey perfection of cream cheese and cherries to make the ideal tiny individual cheesecakes.

What exactly does it mean to be referred to as a tart?

A tart is a tiny pie-like dish containing fruit or custard that has no top crust. Because the outside crust resembles a cinnamon roll and the topping is a wonderful cherry filling, we named our dish a tart. It resembles a little dessert pie!

What’s in cherry pie filling from a can?

There are 90 calories per serving in the brand of cherry pie filling we use. It has no artificial flavors, contains no trans fat, has one gram of fiber per serving, and is gluten-free. Cherries, water, sugar, maize starch, and ascorbic acid are the main ingredients. This item is also kosher, I discovered!

How to create our Cherry Tarts with Only 5 Ingredients:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Using flour, gently dust a clean, level surface. Pull apart each individual cinnamon bun from the can of cinnamon rolls. Place one of the rolls on the floured surface. Flatten the cinnamon roll with a rolling pin or your fingertips to a width slightly wider than the muffin pan. Make all of the cinnamon buns the same way.


Prepare a muffin tray by lightly greasing it and pressing each cinnamon roll into it.


Then, until creamy, combine the sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Place the cream cheese mixture on top of the cinnamon buns and evenly spread it. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 13 minutes.


Remove the tarts from the oven after 13 minutes and pour approximately 2 teaspoons of cherry filling over each pie. Add another 3 minutes to the baking time. Remove from the oven and serve immediately, hot or cold!


One of the best aspects of this dish is that it can be prepared with the help of children. It’s very simple to set together, so you won’t get frustrated when those little hands get involved in your cooking. While I make the cream cheese filling, my kids enjoy pressing or rolling the cinnamon buns flat and shaping them to the muffin pans. You may simply replace the cherry topping with blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, or even pumpkin if you like. These will be a hit at your next get-together, hot or cold!

  • 8 oz. Cream Cheese Block
  • a half cup of sugar
  • Container for Cinnamon Rolls
  • Filling for Cherry Pie
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Make a bowl out of the dough by pressing cinnamon rolls into a prepared muffin pan. (As seen above.)
  3. In a mixing dish, combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Back for 12 minutes after adding the cream cheese mixture to the cinnamon rolls.
  5. Remove the cherry pie crust from the oven and fill it with cherry pie filling.
  6. Return the pan to the oven for another 3 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes after removing from the oven.
  8. Enjoy


Warm the frosting that comes with the cinnamon rolls and pour it over the cooked tarts for more flavor!
