Working with a sugar mouse, the researchers fed the animals a diet with high levels of sucrose and fructose. A control group of mice was fed a standard diet. After 12 weeks, the mice that were fed the high-sugar diet had less sucrose and fructose in their brains compared to the mice who ate a healthy diet.
