Baked Ground Beef Taquitos |

Ground beef is a great source of protein, but it can be a messy and attracting to bugs when it is left out for too long. Now, there is an easy way to make perfectly seasoned ground beef taquitos and salsa, which are ready in under 15 minutes.

I was recently asked to make a ground beef taquito recipe and, after spending a good amount of time trying to pick out the exact right recipe, I finally found one that I’m really happy with. Â

These taquitos are a variation on the traditional Mexican dish, served best with a fresh lime and a salsa of your choice.

For a guest post on Real Women Talk 2, I prepared these ground beef taquitos. I like assisting other female entrepreneurs! Regardless of your race or background, Cinco de Mayo is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Mexican culture and food. Whether you host a large Fiesta or a little family gathering, you’re sure to have a good time!

Because they’re filling and can be eaten with your hands, these Taquitos de Carne Asada (Baked Ground Beef Taquitos) are ideal for a party. I also decided to bake the taquitos since it allows me to make a large quantity at once. You can make a crunchier taquito by frying them, but you’ll have to do it in batches. Not to mention that frying food requires extra cleaning, but I’ll leave it up to you to pick which method to choose.

Baking Instructions for Taquitos:

-Place tortillas separately in the oven while it’s preheating for a few minutes till they get soft before you start rolling your taquitos. Alternatively, you may microwave them in a stack of five for approximately 20 seconds between two wet paper towels. Warming the tortillas will make rolling them simpler.

-Using a pastry brush and oil or cooking oil spray, evenly coat the taquitos with the oil. Add additional oil if they begin to break during baking.

-Preheat the oven to 250°F and cover the taquitos to keep them warm.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow tortillas to warm in a single layer on oven racks while the oven is preheating. You’d want them to be warm and cuddly. Use an oil-coated big stoneware dish or a large rimmed baking sheet.

  • In a pan, brown the ground meat, then add the taco seasoning and water.

  • Arrange the refried beans, ground beef, and cheese on a station. Spread a thin layer of beans over the tortilla to serve as an adhesive. Then add a spoonful of ground meat and shredded cheese on top. Place seam side down on the baking dish and roll firmly.

  • Have a little space between each taquito. Once they are all rolled, spray an even layer of cooking oil spray or brush oil on each taquito. Bake for 15-20 minutes until they are slightly brown and crispy.  If the taquitos start breaking while baking, add more oil.

Notes

Cover the taquitos with foil and keep them warm in the oven at 250 degrees.
