The Classic Italian Sausage goes beyond the typical pork and beef sausage, with the addition of a mild Italian sausage, seasoned and stuffed with mozzarella cheese. We have all had an Italian sausage before, but did you know that some of the best ones are stuffed with cheese? We decided to add in with a classic Italian sausage, and the results were quite tasty. We stuffed ours with mozzarella cheese and it was a hit.

Some pointers for preparing cheese-filled Italian sausage

  • I like mild Italian sausage, but if you want a bit more heat, you may use spicy sausage or even sausage if you don’t like hot.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.


Place the sausages on a chopping board after removing them from their package. Make an incision in the middle of each sausage with a knife. Place the cheese stick in the sausage slice and seal it. Carry on with the remaining sausages in the same manner.


In an oven dish, place the filled sausages. Over the sausages, pour the marinara sauce and top with grated parmesan cheese.


Preheat oven to 400°F and bake for 40 minutes. The sausages should be done when they reach a temperature of 160 degrees.


Serve with spaghetti or your favorite keto veggies as a side dish. Have a blast!
