Spicy Basil Chicken- Pad Kra Pao Gai
I have one of those kitchens: the kind of kitchen that’s too small for a normal person to cook in. Most of my cooking is done in the microwave, which is just fine, because that’s where I stash my leftovers. But there’s one dish I can’t avoid that needs a stove top: Thai Basil Chicken. Sure, it’s not the healthiest thing in the world, but it’s so delicious that I can’t stop myself.
Looking for a quick and easy dinner recipe? How about a dish that’s warm, comforting, and full of flavor? For those of you who are familiar with the Thai dish pad thai, you know that it is sticky and often smothered in sauce and peanut butter. Pad pao is a similar dish, but just because it is cooked in different sauce, it is not a short term quick fix. What you get is a full meal of protein and vegetables.
What good is a dish if the spices go to waste? That’s why we always squeeze the juice from our dish and then use it as the base for our delicious sauce. This recipe is my secret recipe to making a delicious sauce and this is the only ingredient that you will need.. Read more about spicy thai basil chicken recipe and let us know what you think.
Pad Kra Pao Gai is a hot and sour stir-fry with Thai basil and chicken.
This rendition isn’t as genuine as the original, but it’s comparable to the basil meals served at your neighborhood Thai restaurant in the United States. We usually order the Spicy Basil Chicken when we go out to eat Thai cuisine, and this dish comes fairly close to it. Thai Holy Basil and typically minced pork are used in authentic Pad Kra Pao, although holy basil may be difficult to come by. Thai basil, on the other hand, is more widely available and can be found in most Asian markets.
This dish is often served in Thailand with a fried egg on top. The egg helps to temper the heat in Pad Kra Pao, which is typically very spicy. Use a nonstick pan with some oil to cook the egg until it is lovely and crispy. This meal has even been served for breakfast on occasion! Start with only one chili pepper if you don’t like spicy cuisine, since the basil in the recipe will make it hotter.
Spicy Basil Chicken- How to Make It-
Prepare the chicken breast by thinly slicing it and marinating it in 1 teaspoon of Golden Mountain Soy Sauce. Then, in a mortar, pound Thai chilies and garlic. If you don’t have a mortar, you may use a food processor or finely chop them.
In a wok, sauté the garlic chili combination with a tablespoon of oil for approximately 20 seconds over medium heat, then add the chicken breast, increase the heat to high, and cook completely. Combine the onions, bell pepper, green beans, jalapeño, and soy sauce combination in a large mixing bowl. Cook for a few minutes, then remove from the heat and stir in the Thai basil. It’s ready to serve after a thorough stir.
