My 8-year-old can practically prep 90% of the ingredients while she assists me in putting together this family favorite since it’s such a simple “dump-and-bake” recipe. It’s a wonderful comfort meal for those much-welcomed friend/family get-togethers, as well as a simple-to-bake dish. If you try it, you’ll get a lot of positive feedback—I guarantee it! I mean, come on… If the combination of bacon, cheese, and Ritz Crackers doesn’t make your mouth swim, we need to speak about your life choices! (I’m joking… kind of.)

Is it possible to omit the Greek yogurt?

Absolutely! Sour cream works well as a replacement for greek yogurt in almost all of my recipes. They have a similar consistency, and their flavor isn’t really highlighted since they’re simply an additive. I like greek yogurt since it is healthier, higher in protein, and contains beneficial probiotics! Sour cream is also thick and creamy, but it lacks the same nutritional advantages.

Can I use leftover turkey instead of chicken?

Yes!! This is a wonderful meal to make after the holidays when you don’t know what to do with all of the leftover turkey. I would follow the same procedures and use the same ingredients, but instead of chicken, I would use turkey. Now you have a wonderful meal that your family will like and you won’t waste any of your holiday food! It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
