The keto diet is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate way of eating that’s making waves throughout the health world. People who follow this kind of eating style eat as much fat as possible, replacing carbs with fat. This way of eating is a ketogenic diet and it’s not just for diabetics anymore; it’s easy to follow, and has lots of health benefits.

I’ve been enjoying Keto lately, and I can’t believe how well this pork chop recipe turned out! I am a self-proclaimed carb junky, so I am always looking for creative ways to incorporate more healthy carbs into my diet, and today I turned to this one. I used low carb pork chops (which are sometimes sold as low carb pork shoulder chops), and cut a few carbs out of the recipe by using a sweetener instead of sugar.

These peach chops have a sweet taste that is balanced out by savory spices in this tasty, ketone-friendly meal. These succulent pork chops are excellent on their own, but I paired them with green beans and cauliflower puree for a low-carb supper.

Here are some pointers to bear in mind while making peaches glaze chops:

  • When the internal temperature of pork chops hits 145 degrees, they are done. I used a handy thermometer to verify whether the meat was done rather than guessing.
  • I add the feta just after the chops come out of the oven, so it isn’t completely melted. If you wish to add the cheese before putting the pan on the roasting pan, you may do so and receive wonderful melted cheese over the chops!

Pork chops seasoned and glazed with a low-carb peach sauce.

Chops de porc:

  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 2 lbs)
  • a quarter-pound of butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 5 thyme sprigs
  • 4 crushed basil leaves
  • 2 cups green beans (fresh)
  • feta cheese, crumbled (optional)

Peach Sauce for Keto:

1

Preheat the oven at a low temperature. On the stove, heat a big cast iron pan over medium heat.

2

Preheat the oven to 350°F and season the pork chops with salt and pepper. In a cast iron skillet, melt the butter. When the butter has melted, whisk in the chopped garlic for 2 minutes. Cook the pork chops for 4 minutes on each side in the cast iron skillet.

In a small bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients.

Remove the chops from the cast iron pan after they’ve been cooked on both sides. In the same pan, cook the green beans for 2 minutes on low heat.

My mouth is watering at the thought of this dish!

I had to pause and wonder at how this boring piece of beef could take on the most tempting tastes when I wasn’t busy eating those exquisite bits of peach chop (say that five times fast!).

I typically think of peach syrup as a sweet topping, but I’m excited to experiment with it in savory recipes as well. Do you have any ideas, my friends?

Jenna, a member of my team, put this recipe to the test for me, and here’s what she had to say:

They came out beautifully! I particularly enjoy the ChocZero syrup and how you used it to make frosting. I substituted asparagus for green beans and followed the same instructions. The pork chops and veggies were cooked to perfection.

But look at this sauce! It’s fantastic! I love how the erythritol cools down to the point that you can’t tell it’s not brown sugar! Jenna –
