This reminds me of the 90/10 rule, but with a few differences. I eat the things I like just because I enjoy them. Beef Hamburgers aren’t all created equal.

Three medium round or two large hamburgers may be made from one pound of ground beef. I aim to make each one approximately 6 ounces. Remove the meat from the package and season well with the herbs of your choice. Form into patty shapes by dividing into two or three equal pieces. Make a dimple in the middle of each patty with your thumb. This ensures that your burger does not bloat and deform throughout the cooking process.

Organic Beef Hamburger with Goat Cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, and salt and pepper.

  2. Divide the meat mixture into three pieces of equal size and form into patties.

  3. Make a dimple in the middle of each patty with your thumb.

  4. Season the outside with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  5. Preheat the grill to the appropriate temperature. If you’re cooking indoors, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet and sear the burgers for approximately 2 minutes each side, or until desired temperature is reached. Cooking temperature may be found in the notes.

  6. Place each burger on the bottom half of each bun, cover with goat cheese and any other toppings, and serve. Cover with the tops of the buns and serve.

  7. These burgers go well with a light salad or fries as a side dish.

The Best Burger Cooking Techniques

The last point I’d want to make is about the best way to cook your burger. For me, the greatest burger is made on a charcoal barbecue. The scent of charcoal burning in the air is one of my favorites. When I smell the scent, it makes me feel like it’s summer. If you don’t want to eat burgers just in the summer, you’ll have to be inventive during other times of the year. As a result, the all-powerful grill pan was born. My burger is usually started on a very hot grill pan. Because the grill pan creates grill markings on your burger, it may fool you into thinking it was cooked on a BBQ grill, but any cast iron pan will suffice. I have no idea how I cooked before I found cast iron cookware. They’re now my go-to for everything.

A little amount of non-stick spray and a lot of heat are my favorites. On the burgers, I’m going for a fast outside sear. The pan is then transferred to the oven to finish cooking to the desired doneness. Last but not least, double-check that you have all of your toppings and sauces on hand. You’ll want to savor your burger while it’s still warm. With a simple spring mix salad, this becomes a dinner that the whole family will appreciate.
