In an air fryer, what temperature should steak bites be cooked at?

The temperature of an air fryer varies significantly depending on the type. However, after testing the steaks in six different air fryers, we’ve found that 400 F is the best temperature for consistency. Preheat the air fryer first, and the high temperature will ensure a nice sear on the steak bites! If you like your steak bites medium rare, the high temperature will provide a flawless outer crust and medium rare middle. No issue if you want your air fryer steak pieces to be medium or more cooked. Cook the beef bites for a few minutes further. You’ll know what time is ideal for you after cooking your first steak bits in the air fryer on your particular air fryer model.

The Best Air Fried Steak Bites Recipe

You’ll like these steak bits so much that you’ll most likely cook them again! You may prepare them with or without potatoes. You may also add mushrooms, asparagus, or any other vegetables you want. If you’re using potatoes or other harder vegetables, be sure to par-boil them first so the steak bits and vegetables cook at the same time. Alternatively, you may cook the steak bits first and then prepare the vegetables while they rest.

Which Steaks Should You Use for Air Fryer Steak Bites?

  • Use your favorite kind of steak for the varieties of steak.
  • We like ribeye, sirloin, tri-tip, and chuck shoulder steaks, depending on our budget (aka London Broil steaks).
  • Here’s a fantastic debate on various steak cuts.

Which Air Fryer Is the Best?

There are a lot of them on the market right now. All you have to do now is do some research and discover the ones that best suit your requirements, capacity, and personal flair. The basket type air fryers are divided into two sizes: 3-4 quarts and 5-6 quarts. Here are a few of our favorites:

3.7 qt. Cosori Digital Air Fryer – As we unboxed the Cosori, someone said, “That’s a stylish Air Fryer.” It’s not only elegant, but it’s also delicious to eat. The basket isn’t as tall or as broad as others in its size range, which is ideal. With single layered, spread out meals, you’ll get far better outcomes in an air fryer than with dishes stacked high and thick. Clean up is also a breeze because to the non-stick basket design (non-wire base) and smoothness of the basket tray.

Digital Air Fryer Ninja 4 Qt. – Has a fantastic ceramic coated basket that is one of the most durable we’ve used. This air fryer has a strong fan that can cook dishes quicker than other air fryers. We returned the first one since we didn’t think we’d enjoy the basket style. We purchased another after giving it some thought and are really pleased we did. It has a basket and just a platform insert, which we like. It’s one less item to wash. This air fryer is fantastic.

Air Fryers with a Larger Capacity

1632467800_744_Best-Air-Fryer-Steak-Bites-Recipe-in-Air-Fryer-KETO 5.8 qt. Tiluxury Digital Air Fryer – It’s an excellent bigger air fryer for cooking for larger families, particularly when there’s a lot of food to cook. It’s ideal for large quantities of food (ie 4 salmon fillets instead of 2 or 2 lbs of fries instead of 1). We enjoy the non-stick basket on this Tiluxury 5.8 qt (non-wire base). For delicate dishes, this means less sticking (ie baked fish fillets). We also like the digital interface (easier cleaning).

1632467802_225_Best-Air-Fryer-Steak-Bites-Recipe-in-Air-Fryer-KETO Gourmia 6 qt. Digital Air Fryer – One of our favorite bigger basket type air fryers is the Gourmia 6 qt. Digital Air Fryer. The basket is a decent size, the controls are excellent, and the food cooks well. It’s fantastic to clean up after yourself. It has quickly become one of our favorite dishes in the kitchen. We often find it at Costco at a fantastic deal!

Bites of steak cooked in the air fryer (with or without potatoes)

Time to prepare: 20 minutes

Time allotted: 30 minutes

You may prepare the steak bits on your own. You may also add mushrooms, asparagus, or any other vegetables you want. However, if you wish to serve with potatoes, chop them into pieces approximately half the size of the steak bits so they cook evenly. We like to use pee-wee or tiny gold potatoes, which we chop in half or quarters. You can make the steak bites Keto-friendly by omitting the potatoes and replacing them with other keto-friendly vegetables. Use your favorite kind of steak for the varieties of steak. We like ribeye, sirloin, tri-tip, and chuck shoulder steaks, depending on our budget (aka London Broil steaks).

  • 1 pound (454 g) steaks, cut into 1/2” cubes and drained
  • Optional: 1/2 pound (227 g) potatoes, sliced into 1/2” pieces
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) melted butter (or oil)
  • Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon (5 mL)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 mL)
  • to taste salt
  • a pinch of black pepper, to taste
  • Garnish with minced parsley
  • Optional: melted butter for finishing
  • Finish with chili flakes, if desired.
  • Bring a big saucepan of water to a boil before dropping in the potatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, or until almost soft, before draining.

  • Combine the steak cubes and the blanched potatoes in a mixing bowl. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper after coating in melted butter.

  • Preheat the Air Fryer for 4 minutes at 400°F.

  • In the air fryer basket, arrange the steak and potatoes in an equal layer. Air fry for 10-18 minutes at 400°F, shaking and turning the meat and potatoes three times throughout the frying period (time depends on your preferred doneness, thickness of the steak, and size of air fryer).

  • Examine the steak to check how thoroughly it has been cooked. Cook the beef for a further 2-5 minutes if you want it more done.

  • Drizzle with optional melted butter and/or optional chili flakes and garnish with parsley. If desired, season with more salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

  • Air fryers with a capacity of 3-4 quarts were used to prepare the recipes. If you use a bigger air fryer, the recipe may cook faster, thus adjust the frying time accordingly.
  • It is recommended to pre-heat the Air Fryer since it produces a superior sear on the steak. If you don’t preheat, the cooking time will be longer.
  • Set a timer to shake, flip, or toss the food as instructed in the recipe.
